Whooping Cough AlertTo reduce the rise in whooping cough in this country, a government advisory panel recommends a new booster vaccine for all 11- and 12-year-olds. Other professional groups are still evaluating this recommend-ation. Some adolescents also may need to get the new vaccine, a booster against diphtheria and tetanus as well as whooping cough. If you have children ages 11-18, ask your doctor about the vaccine.
